Gormenghast: gritty, gothic and glorious. My starting point and inspiration is the world created by the tortured genius of Mervyn Peake but its fantastic architecture will take me elsewhere. Maybe to a castle or a dungeon, a gate, a stairway, a mountain, a labyrinth of infinite possibilities. There's a boy, a servant and a lover. A conquest, a deluge, a burning and a room full of bright carvings. More real than real yet made of images worthy of a dream.
