Presentation of the work from the dance and mask workshop led by Joe Wild
The performance marks the first event of the meXico season, me at a crossroads—an unexpected meeting point between seemingly irreconcilable cultures. Following García Márquez, the Teatro delle Radici’s exploration continues, seeking to return to the source, to that Mexico of Juan Rulfo which, though distant, bears the imprint of a primal, blood-and-magic essence in which to reflect. This quest is a dynamic current, in perpetual motion, into which others flow—experiences and lives that, through contact, become imbued with the different, taking on unexpected nuances. Such is the case with the dance-theater workshop directed by Joe Wild and his exploration of the grotesque mask, which in this performance absorbs and transforms into something else—ancestral, universal.
