The grand finale of the last show in the shadow of Eloisa del Carmassi marked the definitive end of the 2012 international school of performance at the Frantoio di Fucecchio. This project brought together artists, technicians and performers to create a show of international scope that showcased a historic site in the Fucecchio area, the parco corsini.
In the ancient and magical setting of the Orchard and Cinema Area of the Park, a performance inspired by Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 was staged, a captivating journey, rich in images and emotions, where different performative languages found their place: live music, theatre, contemporary circus and dance.
The creative process that led to BURN, the title of the performance, went beyond simple theatrical production, constituting a real moment of training, reflection and knowledge sharing. The result was a fascinating but also poignant show, capable of touching on a variety of current issues from a new and unusual perspective: from the management of information by governments to male oppression; from the desolation of a society without books to the incessant struggle of human beings to maintain their individuality.
Performers and professionals from the local, national and international areas participated in the workshop that preceded the shows. This led to the formation of a small multicultural family that represented a form of wealth for the Fucecchiese area, thanks to the accommodation of staff members in local facilities.
This year, the six travelling performances staged by firenza guidi and her team were an unprecedented success with the public, selling out (90 people) on the evenings of 29 and 30 August. After the conclusion of the international school and participation in the Meethink in Castelfiorentino from 10 to 16 September, the Frantoio di Fucecchio will officially resume its activities on 3 October with a show on the Padule eccidio dedicated to schools in the Empolese Valdelsa district.
