The work takes its inspiration from the novel Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett . The project is intended for performers with some/good level of circus skills (any discipline) who want to explore and extend their performance range whilst engaging in a creative process and being exposed to a new performance language.
The workshop culminates in a work-presentation/performance on Wednesday 29 October.
Under the artistic direction of Firenza Guidi, the workshop takes the form of an intensive residence involving performance-training work as well as research and development of individual pieces. You will be developing your performance skills as well as the ensemble work and creative process. The project will be particularly useful to circus performers who want to work on - or freshen up- their "acts"; circus performers who are stuck or bored with their pieces; or others who have bits and pieces of material but haven't had the opportunity to put it together.
