The latest creative writing workshop, led by Firenza Guidi, held at the Frantoio in Fucecchio, focuses on the most unpredictable, the most overwhelming and the most catastrophic of all feelings known to man and woman: Love.
These sessions are inspired by a form of literature which flourished in the Italian Cinquecento: Treatises on the Art of Love and the codes of decorum in the art of courting for young men and women. These treatises are revisited in order to create a new and contemporary narrative. Writers will choose their preferred form of writing to talk of love in many different ways: ironically, wittily, philosophically, irreverently: but always truly, madly, deeply. A virtual yet passionate journey through the highs and lows, the tenderness and violence of a sentiment which has the power of tornados, hurricanes and turbo-charged engines and which can turn any of our lives topsy-turvy in the blinking of an eye.
