smell and feel rather than see.

When I start creating a show my head is full of pictures, like a slideshow with music.
The way the performance comes together is more like cutting a movie.
Picture after picture.

Spectators watch a live movie.

Words are pictures too, they fire me up.
They're a pillow I sleep on and dream up.

I sell dreams.

Most things in life are random.
Like the sequence of pictures in a dream.
But above all, I love these animals called humans.

Raw, raucous, playful, seductive: naughty adults and baby heroes.

There is a whole vocabulary of misbehaving
in my performance language.
That's the first thing performers learn to do.
I paint big pictures, not with paint but with people.

And I fall in love with them.

The school, which takes its inspiration from Federico Fellini's The Book of Dreams, is open to actors, circus performers, dancers, musicians, visual artists and technicians from all disciplines and to all those with a desire to embark on a multi-faceted creative journey.
The process is intensive and demands commitment and physical stamina. For 14 days participants will work with an international team of experienced creative artists under the Artistic Direction of Firenza Guidi.
The work will culminate in the performance-montage, the internationally renowned performance training method and style of presentation created by Firenza Guidi in 1989. Participants will be supported and encouraged to expand their skills and engage in an exhilarating process of structured creative collaboration.
For years, the Italian director has been developing her style of performance, based on an unique physical language, developing circus skills, a fusion of text, sound, music, visual arts and a constant re-defining of the relationship performer-space and performer-spectator, both seen as co-players in the creative process.

All participants are expected to arrive in the morning of 18th August to register at the hostel, refresh and be ready for 4pm Registration and 5pm: Meet and Greet and first session.

Cost:

• School: 235 Euros
• Food: 185 Euros (breakfast and evening cooked dinner)
• Participants are responsible for their own travel and insurance. The nearest airport is Pisa and it is well-served by low cost airlines (Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2, etc).
