The work takes its inspiration from the short stories of Argentinian writer Julio Cortà zar. The project is intended for performers with some/good level of circus skills (any discipline) who want to explore and extend their performance range whilst engaging in a creative process and being exposed to a new performance language.
The workshop culminates in a work-presentation/performance on Saturday 26 June.Under the artistic direction of Firenza Guidi, the workshop takes the form of an intensive residence involving performance-training work as well as research and development of individual pieces. You will be developing your performance skills as well as the ensemble work and creative process. The project will be particularly useful to circus performers who want to work on - or freshen up- their "acts"; circus performers who are stuck or bored with their pieces; or others who have bits and pieces of material but haven't had the opportunity to put it together.
Firenza Guidi is writer/director of all incarnations of "Immortal" for NoFitState Circus and Artistic Director of "Tabu" (2008 and 2010), a new performance for the same company.
