Hamlet as our contemporary. The tragedy of the adolescent prince of Denmark and of young Ophelia, in love with him, is a perfect background to talk about young people's discomfort in our contemporary world. Shakespeare's Hamlet is in fact the source of inspiration for the performance workshop held in collaboration with Liceo Checchi, where students are given the opportunity to take part in and gain practical experience within all of the departments involved in a theatre production: costumes, scenography, performance, lighting, sound, video, PR.
The relationships between parents and children, love and madness, honour and morality, reality and appearance : these themes and others, and the links between them, are explored in the workshop, providing fresh and invaluable insights into the text and are particularly useful for students preparing for their final exam. Shakespeare's text will be adapted by Firenza Guidi to explore the many facets of young people's discomfort.
