Due Saponette Rosse di Tritolo

A reading in memory of the Eccidio of 23 August 1944

In this innovative and fast-paced play, told through flashbacks, Firenza Guidi weaves a tapestry of memories that intertwine with the ‘dangerous’ games of a group of children. It is the end of the war and the remnants of the conflict become, for a group of children, ‘games’: Mauser magazines were easily found in the trenches along the riverbank; the bullet primers, when crushed with stones, made small bangs; and the red TNT bars enveloped the flame burning all night long in black smoke. From the children’s innocent play, Guidi reconstructs the fabric of a past that is still alive and waiting to be relived.
