Passion kills. We are in Madrid, in August 1939. Thirteen women, most of whom are not yet twenty, await death in the women’s prison in the Las Ventas district. Arrested as subversives by the Falangists of Francisco Franco’s new dictatorship, in reality not all of them have any real connection to the revolutionary forces of the Popular Front: innocent and powerless in the face of a regime hungry for exemplary purges, they desperately share their fate as victims.
