Intensive dance workshop led by Jem and Aidan Treays
Brothers Jem and Aidan Treays, who in recent years have held the position of Head of Movement (Dance and Movement Directors) at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and the Drama Studio in London respectively, will lead CRASH, BANG, WHALLOP, the dance workshop at Frantoio di Fucecchio, under the artistic direction of firenza guidi. These two internationally renowned professionals will offer participants a new and unique experience.
The specific aim of the workshop is to approach dance not as a discipline in its own right, but as an essential part of an actor’s training in mastering the body and movement both on stage and in life. CRASH, BANG, WHALLOP is aimed not only at experienced dancers, but at everyone. Each participant will devote time to discovering their specific “body paths”, linked to different moments in life, and then modify them in order to discover a new relationship with their body and the environment, with a view to creating a theatrical character.
The workshop will be held in intensive form from Monday 4th to Friday 8th June and will explore the theme “the adult body in the child’s space”. Each session will begin with a technical and warm-up part that will combine specific exercises and improvisation. The aim will be to produce, through observation, movement reproduction and games, sensual, ironic and sometimes violent theatrical material.
Believing that it is important to give everyone the opportunity to receive quality training at an affordable cost, Elan Frantoio is offering this exceptional workshop for only £4 per hour.
Jem and Aidan will also work with firenza guidi and will present the performance “Finding Enrique” at the end of the workshop.
