The dance workshop at Frantoio di Fucecchio, led by brothers Jem and Aidan Treays, two stars of international dance, will close tomorrow at 9:00 p.m. with the usual presentation of the work.
CRASH, BANG, WHALLOP saw the participation of people of all ages from all over the fucecchio area, none of whom had ever studied dance before.
The aim of the course was to integrate dance as an essential element for expressing oneself through the body in the fullest, most conscious and free way possible, both on stage and in life, freeing dance from the concept of a discipline in its own right, for which it is mandatory to wear a tutu and pointe shoes.
The opportunity offered by Frantoio, which has always been one of the basic ideas behind the Association, is to work with professionals who are themselves in the process of creation. Working with a teacher who is also a performer in search of new ideas means that the learning process is not confined to the teacher-student relationship, but enables those participating in the courses to teach something meaningful and unique to the entire working group. The workshop thus becomes a moment of evolution and research for everyone.
As was the case with Eynat Geva and her Sufi workshop, Jem and Aidan Treays also drew inspiration from the learning processes developed through the workshop to begin researching their own roots, which will culminate in the performance “Finding Enrique”, following Friday’s presentation. This is an exclusive preview, the first stage of a long working process that will see the two siblings engaged around the world for the next three years.
Once again, the Frantoio di Fucecchio has proven itself capable of bringing great international artists to the area, offering unique training opportunities and new and fascinating experiences not only for actors, performers and professionals, but for anyone who wants to participate.
