Presentation of the work of the international circus arts workshop conceived and directed by firenza guidi
If you are out for an aperitif, don’t miss the circus show at the Frantoio. At the ‘I Care’ Foundation, eleven circus artists from all over the world and two performers from the Frantoio’s Permanent Company will perform tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. in an extraordinary performance inspired by a story by Ray Bradbury.
The show, which is the presentation of the work carried out during the week-long workshop, will combine various circus disciplines (contortionism, trapeze, aerial silks, juggling) with the excitement of theatre. ‘The Blue Bottle’, the Bradbury story that inspired the performance, is an incredible metaphor for the human being’s constant search for meaning and identity, an incessant exploration of a territory to be conquered which, however, keeps it alive.
It is, therefore, the search that matters: and the search was the leitmotif of the entire workshop, in which young international artists were able to experiment with new and original techniques through which to improve themselves and go beyond their limits, even spatial ones. Firenza Guidi’s input focused on exploration through space: a trapeze can become a door or a window, a trampoline can elevate you to other heights and other rooms.
LONG AFTER MIDNIGHT opened the summer season at the Frantoio di Fucecchio, which will continue until September with a series of events, the most important of which is BURN, the new international school of performance, also inspired by Ray Bradbury, which will begin on 17 August 2012.
